Our new business model will not include as comprehensive a repair facility as before. We will still offer some repair as listed below:

After 28+ years in our old location we have just completed a grueling move! We will continue to take care of any warranty work on any items we recently sold or serviced as needed.

We have moved down the street to 1467 University Ave. and will share a very small space with Handy Electronics. We will be doing much of our work from our homes and this new location is more of a pick-up/drop off spot. Our main focus will be fixing things to resell. We have now resumed taking some repair work in our new location. Below is a list of what we will and won't fix these days:

YES:Turntables, Speakers, Tube amps, Vintage solid state 2 channel amps and receivers.

NO:Surround Sound products, CD Players, Tape Decks.

So that we can focus on fixing our own stock to resell we will be very selective about what repair work we offer the general public. Below is a list of other shops that may be able to help you with things we no longer fix. In general we like all the people on this list but every shop has its favorite gear! It's best to contact them directly for rates and type of gear serviced.

Another word of advice: While we still love this vintage gear much of it is now getting to be 30+ years old. Nothing lasts forever and many of the older sets are starting to have quirky, unfixable issues they weren't having when they were 10 or 15 years old. While the Japanese Manufacturers are great about using a lot of common, generic parts often these repair parts are no longer available. Mechanical devices such as CD players and Cassette Decks are usually not economcially feasable to fix!

Jim's Electronics in Eugene Oregon

541-343-7683.

chris@jimselectronics.com

While we feel it is preferable to seek service locally they are an alternative if you need to ship things out of the area. We had a branch in Eugene in the mid-80's and are still in close contact with a former employee (Chris Hanks) who is a technician here. Chris does excellent work and is as honest as they come!
